Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) has been adjudged as the recipient of ‘Certificate of Merit’ under Public Sector Entities category in SAFA Best Presented Annual Report Awards 2020. The Awards under different categories are conferred based on the evaluation administered by SAFA’s Committee for Improvement in Transparency, Accountability & Governance, of the published annual reports of entries from South Asian Countries.

The President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) handed over the certificate to Mr. M. Maftun Ahmed, Company Secretory, IDCOL at the award giving ceremony held at the ICAB Auditorium, Dhaka on February 9, 2022.

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), a government owned financial institute, has been awarded with the SAFA Best Presented Annual Report Awards and SAARC Anniversary Awards for Corporate Governance Disclosures-2016 under Public Sector Entities category. Mr. M Maftun Ahmed, Company Secretary, IDCOL and Mr. M Mizanur Rahman, Unit Head, Finance & Accounts, IDCOL received the award from Nepal’s Finance Secretary Shankar Prasad Adhikari and SAFA President Dr Suvod Kumar Karn at an awarding ceremony at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza in Kathmandu on 31 January 2018. IDCOL won the award in the South Asia outshining counterparts in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, the Maldives, Bhutan and Afghanistan. This award has been conferred on IDCOL on the basis of evaluation administered by SAFA's Committee for Implementation in Transparency, Accountability and Governance.

On winning the awards, IDCOL’s Executive Director & CEO, Mr. Mahmood Malik said, "Over the past couple of years, IDCOL has won a number of prestigious awards and achieved new milestones in the financial institutions sector.” While focus and commitment are the bedrock of every achievement, IDCOL’s success also reflects the collective effort from its large stakeholders including the Government, Board of Directors, Development Partners and dedicated staff. This international recognition from SAFA and SAARC is another stepping stone towards becoming a pioneer financial institute in the country. 

IDCOL has been awarded the 1^st Prize of the 'ICAB National Award for Best Presented Annual Reports 2015’ in the category of “Public Sector Entities”. The Trophy was handed over to Mr. Mahmood Malik, Executive Director & CEO, IDCOL at a ceremony organized at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka on 29^th November, 2016. Mr. Tofail Ahmed, MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) evaluated annual reports in the context of organizational governance system, financial analysis, appropriate disclosure of accounting policies, presentation of financial statements and the criteria set by South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Committee for Improvement in Transparency, Accountability and Governance (ITAG) for adjudication of ICAB national award.  The best annual reports under each category are also nominated by ICAB to compete in the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) forum for SAFA awards.

IDCOL has been awarded as the country’s ‘Top Taxpayer’ for the assessment year 2015-16 (fiscal year 2014-2015) in the category of “Non-Bank Financial Institutions” on 24 November 2016 at the award giving ceremony organized by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in its new Headquarter at Agargaon in Dhaka. 

On behalf of IDCOL, Mr. S. M. Monirul Islam, CFO & Deputy CEO (Current Charge), received the prestigious tax card award at the award ceremony where Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhit, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Finance, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest. This year the NBR awarded top taxpayers in 18 categories for individuals, 14 categories for companies and four categories for firms and other taxpayers at national level including banks, financial institutions, telecommunication, private and public sector manufacturing companies and many others as a recognition for their exemplary compliance.

Every year, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh honors the top taxpayers at the national level for depositing highest amount of taxes to the state as a gesture to influence others to be just as compliant. The award giving ceremony of this year also marked the beginning of Income Tax Week introduced by the NBR for the first time to provide better services to individual taxpayers.

Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (IDCOL) along with ME SOLshare Ltd, Upokulio Biddutayan O Mohila Unnayan Samity (UBOMUS) and Centre for Energy Research at United International University and MicroEnergy International, was honoured with the Momentum for Change Award on 16th November 2016 in Marrakech, Morocco.

IDCOL secured the First Position of ICMAB Best Corporate Award 2015 in the category of ‘Non-Bank Financial institutions’. Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhit, MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Finance, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh handed over the award to Mr. Mahmood Malik, Executive Director & CEO, IDCOL in an award giving ceremony held at capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on 26 October 2016.

IDCOL wins the Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Award 2014 in the category of 'Best Innovation in Sustainable Products and Services' for successful dissemination of solar home systems (SHS) in Bangladesh. IDCOL has been honored for its efforts in applying innovative approaches to promote a low carbon and sustainable economy. Mr. Enamul Karim Pavel, Head of Renewable Energy, IDCOL and Mr. Nazmul Haque, Director (Investment) & Head of Advisory, IDCOL have received the award in a prestigious ceremony that took place in the City Hall, Karlsruhe, Germany on 12 June 2014. Till May 2014, more than 3.1 million solar home systems have been installed under IDCOL SHS program, providing clean energy solution to about 14 million off-grid rural people of Bangladesh. The Program has contributed towards creation of more than 70,000 jobs, power generation of 140MW, development of local support industries and annual CO2 emission reduction of more than 538,000 tons.

IDCOL SHS Program has been chosen as the best project of Bangladesh and honored with the National Energy Globe Award Bangladesh. ENERGY GLOBE will present the award-winning projects from 161 countries at the launch of World Environment Day on 5 June 2014 as part of the Global Sustainability Online Campaign.

IDCOL has been awarded 'Asia Power & Electricity Award 2014’ in the category of “Solar Project of the Year” for its efforts, accomplishments, and positive contributions under the Solar Home System Program. Mr. Nazmul Haque, Director (Investment) and Head of Advisory, IDCOL received the award at the Power & Electricity Awards Gala Dinner on 23 April 2014 at the Resorts World Convention Centre, Singapore.

IDCOL has been awarded 'Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Award 2013' for outstanding performance in sustainable project financing for its Solar Home System Program. Mr. Mahmood Malik, Executive Director and CEO, IDCOL has received the certificate from Lord Mayor of the city of Karlsruhe, Germany, Dr. Frank Mentrup, at the Global Sustainable Finance Conference 2013 organized by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia & the Pacific and ETECH, Germany in association with Economic Development Department of the City of Karlsruhe, Germany and endorsed by the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiatives.

IDCOL received "The Green Company of Bangladesh" award under Canada Business Award 2012 by Canada Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CBCCI).
