Project background and measures:

The principle objective of the REP is to improve the access to energy from renewable sources, focusing especially on income-generating activities. Within the REP it is envisaged that a soft loan of up to EUR 60 million, as well as a grant of up to EUR 8.5 million will be provided by KfW to IDCOL for programme implementation. The programme is complemented by a Technical Assistance (TA) package, for which up to EUR 1.3 million will be granted by KfW. Until final contract closing between KfW and IDCOL, the tender is explicitly subject to the availability of funding.

Requested Consultant services:

Within the scope of the German Financial Cooperation with Bangladesh, both governments agreed in October 2016 to implement a Renewable Energy Programme (REP) to increase the use of renewable energy sources in Bangladesh. The principle objective of the REP is to improve the access to energy from renewable sources, focusing especially on income-generating activities. The overall objective of this assignment is to provide long-term support and strategic consultancy to the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) to ensure an efficient and successful implementation of the REP. This may include but is not limited to:

  • The design and implementation of targeted capacity and training measures for IDCOL employees, existing and potential customers including on-the job training, conferences, workshops and study tours during project implementation
  • Strengthening of the institutional framework
  • Strengthening IDCOL’s outreach to establish a sound pipeline of potential RE projects to be funded by IDCOL

 

 

Procedure:

 

The consulting contract will follow the KfW´s specimen contract

The prequalification of experienced Consultants is subject to the regulations contained in the “Guidelines for Assignment of Consultants in Financial Cooperation Projects“ (www.kfw-entwicklungsbank.de)
